MUCH A DO ABOUT THE DISPARITY

Penury being English word having a grammatical conception dictates when a person is living in a state of poverty that is so glaring and extreme. This implies a standard of living where a person lives less than one dollar per day. This means that the person cannot afford to eat twice a day.

Such a living is full of lack of basic necessities to live a comfortable life. No comfortable home, no clothes, no nourishing meal, mo access to amenities and good infrastructures, no access to good health care, education etc. a person living in penury is referred to as a pauper suffering from a socio psychological disease. Most people suffering from penury can rise above it with determination. But if not, such person can perish in penury.

Meanwhile, poverty is a state of being poor, and lacking the basic things needed to enjoy a qualitative life. These people also live below one dollar per day. A man said to be poor can be suffering from poverty of material things or poverty of ideas. In both light, poverty is poverty.

When both a person living in poverty and penury meet people who are willing to help, they can either ask for fish or ask to be taught how to fish. If they are given a fish, they could go hungry again after eating the fish but if they are taught how to fish, they can then sustain themselves for a long time and also help others rise above the poverty line.

Nigeria being a developing country has quite a number of people suffering from both penury and poverty. But with aid and partnership from donors in the global platform, the situation is alleviated.

Some of the poverty and penury we have is either circumstantial, incidental or by design of laziness, lack of ideas and funds and not knowing what one wants or wants to do or achieve per time. One can move out of the either state deliberately with lot of hardwork and determination. Davids

It is not a problem if a person is born poor but it will be a shame, if anyone who has God given talents to acquire wealth die in poverty as a result of ignorant. Like you rightly said sir, "with lot of hardwork and determination.“
