A Reflection on Thankfulness for My Baby Baptism

Baby christening is a cherished Christian tradition that we are grateful to partake in. I am grateful for the christening of our daughter on Sunday 21.07.2024. Our daughter was baptized on this day in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The day couldn't have been more perfect for our daughter's baptism at the evangelical church. The weather was ideal, and we were surrounded by loved ones to witness this important occasion.
I am thankful for the successful baptism of my daughter. I extend my gratitude to God and the entire Evangelical church Greentown (Grünstadt) for their love and hospitality during the ceremony last Sunday.
I want to express my gratitude to all our family and friends in France, Germany, USA and Nigeria for their love and support. As stated in Mark 10:13-16, the scripture reminds us of the importance of welcoming children and their innocence, for they hold a special place in the kingdom of God.
The baptism verse in the Bible is derived from Psalm 139:5, which reads "You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head."
A special thank you goes to Pastor Mrs. Prün for conducting a beautiful service. She carefully selected the songs, hymns, and Bible passage for the day, creating a memorable and joyous occasion with God's family.
Lydia enjoyed the service, surprising her father who was unsure if she would stay till the end. Despite being breastfed once and falling asleep during the photo session, we stayed till the end of the sermon.
The hymn-Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! Oh my soul, praise Him, for He is your health and salvation! All who hear, come near to His temple; praise Him with joyful adoration. The song „He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" was sung in both German and English during the ceremony. I am eternally grateful to God for making everything possible, and I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all our guests. Following the ceremony, we changed clothes and proceeded to the restaurant for the reception.
Additionally, her christening took place at our family house in Nigeria on the same day, with the presence of her godfather Mr. Tope Saliu and godmother Mrs Grace Iyabo Saliu, RCCG members from Festac parish, and Pastor Momah from Deeper Life Church. All her cousins were also in attendance. I am thankful for the blessings bestowed upon my daughter and me.
Lydia officially has 4 godmothers and one godfather. Following the christening, she gained an additional godmother, bringing the total to 5.She has 3 godmothers in Germany, one in Nigeria, and one in Paris, as well as one godfather. There is still an opportunity for anyone who wishes to become her godmother. A child is nurtured not only by her immediate family but also by the wider community, which ultimately becomes a global family.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Lydia's christening at our family home in Nigeria. It was a special day with her godfather Mr. Tope Saliu, godmother Mrs. Grace Iyabo (Ebiniyi) Saliu, RCCG members from Festac parish, and Pastor from Deeper Life Church, as well as all her cousins. I am truly grateful for the blessings that have been given to my daughter and me. Lydia now has 3 godmothers and one godfather. After the christening, she gained another godmother, making it a total of 4. She has 2 godmothers in Germany, one in Nigeria, and one in Paris, along with one godfather.
We are so grateful for the love and support of our global family. Once again, thank you all for your prayers and support. God bless you. And a special thank you to my elder brother, Mr. Ademola Ebiniyi , Aunty Tina, my siblings, the Saliu family, and all our friends and well-wishers. God bless you all and keep you all in Jesus Christ name.
