Africans Have More Opportunities in Germany than Toilet Tipping

The Tipping of Toilet Attendants in Germany is often seen at public places; such as, shopping malls, departmental stores, restaurants, even on the gas/petrol stations on the highways. If you are using a toilet/bathroom,  even if you are not eating at the restaurant you might be required to give a tip of 50 Euro Cents; you can also make use of the toilet in some places without giving any tip, you just have to tell the attendant that you don't have coins, if that is your case. If you are a customer of a restaurant, Café, you must not be charged to use their restroom though, but if there is an attendant, you can tip him/her if you wish to do so.

I'm not against the toilet tipping in Germany. What surprises me; is the fact that most of the places I have used the restroom, the attendants are mostly blacks (Africans). When you visit a mall in some region of Germany, and make use of their restroom you will see a  young man or woman properly dressed, sitting or standing, with a plate that already has few coins 50 Euro cent or 1 Euro in it, close to the restroom. I wonder if these people (Africans) will do this in their homeland; to work as toilet attendants, Even when most of them are Graduates.

I remember during one of my 'Sprachkurs' (Germany lesson) classes, the Teacher asked the question; "Why is it that when you go to the public restroom in Germany the attendants are usually Africans? I looked  at her and, I said It puzzles me, when I see my fellow Africans sitting next to the toilet to collect 50 Euro Cents tip. I don't blame this people (Africans),You know why? most of them are not rightly informed on the chances and the opportunities they have, to work in Germany. With their higher education qualification.

Over the past years, there have been a lot of immigrants in Germany; some are victims of wars and crimes i.e Syria. also there are a lot of Africans/Asians who migrated to Germany either by marriage or studies or in search for a better life. Most of them have already acquired their higher education in their homeland or country, unknown to some of them that they can actually work with their degrees or professional qualifications, that they have obtained from their homeland, Here In Germany. But due to the lack of adequate information they settle for  less. Especially the African race.

The question most asked or imagined is can i work with my qualification in Germany? The answer to this question is YES and No. Let me explain.
For those with a regulated profession such as; Doctors, Teachers, Nurses and Lawyers the recognition of your professional qualification is a must. The people with the above professions, can continue work in Germany with the qualifications from their homeland; all you need to do; is first, enroll for the (Sprachkurs) German language classes. Do the integration course for the minimum of one-two years (A1-B2 or C1). It really depends on the individual, some people learn fast, and others need more time to catch up. The best way to catch up with the language is to have as many contacts as you can have with the Germans. This will help you in practicing; that helps you to demonstrate your German proficiency in the labour market.

Opportunities in the labour market: send your documents of qualification for "Anerkennung" recognition or "Zeugnisbewertung" assesment of foreign qualifications. This Recognition helps to increase your chances in the labour market. It helps the employee to better understand and evaluate the qualification, also approve of what the applicant has learned. People with the above mentioned profession or vocational skill, can work in the German labour market with their foreign qualification; Also those who have other qualifications in various field of studies can as well practice in Germany. You only need to go to the labour market. It will be good if you have done the recognition or assessment of your qualification before going to the labour market.

Don't  limit yourself, move out and do some findings about your living and working in any country you find yourself. I once met a Nigerian, who claimed to have a hospital in Lagos (A city In Nigeria) and had practiced as a doctor; after studying medical science at the university of Lagos, only for him to close down his hospital and come all the way to Germany, to work as a hospital post man (messenger) because he failed to go through the right process or perphas his Knowledge in the medical field is low standard compared to what is obtainable in Germany. But Unlike The First Example, I also met a young female Teacher from Rwanda, who is  practicing in Germany as a Teacher because she did the necessary things first.
